There really is so much to enjoy in this part of Wales that we have yet to explore much of it ourselves. We have kept our recommendations to within one hours drive.

Places to visit
Dating back to the 12th century, Laugharne was destroyed by Cromwell's Roundheads during the Civil War. Worth a visit for the views alone.
Open 10am -5pm, April to September.
The Boat House
Dylan Thomas was born in Swansea but made Laugharne his home, writing many of his major works here including Under Milk Wood. Both his writing shed and tiny former home, the Boathouse have been preserved with original furnishings and memorabilia.
Open 10am-5pm in summer and 10am -3pm in winter.
The National Botanic Garden of Wales (30 mins)
A brilliant millennium project, the Botanic Garden continues to inspire visitors with it's variety of horticulture and the stunning architecture of The Great Glasshouse
Open March to October, 10am – 6pm, and 10am to 4:30pm in winter.
Stackpole Quay (50 mins)
Part of the Pembrokeshire National Park there is too much to see in one visit, but we recommend heading for Barafundle Bay, a gorgeous beach about ½ mile trek from the car park.
Skomer Island (1 hour)
Well, 1 hour is slightly misleading as that will get you to Marloes Peninsula where you then catch the boat to Skomer Island. It is a national nature reserve and birdwatchers paradise where you may also spot dolphins and grey seals. A magical place.
St Davids (55 mins)
The smallest city the UK, St David's is in reality a charming village, with a wonderful cathedral , surrounded by some of the best beaches on the Pembrokeshire coastline.
Pendine (5 mins)
Our local beach, famous for hosting the land speed records on its 7 mile stretch of sand.
Pembrey Country Park (40 mins)
Forestry, nature reserve and 8 miles of sandy beach lined with dunes. This is a great place for cycling, walking and swimming in the sea (weather permitting!). Perfect for taking a picnic and making a day of it.
Tenby (30 mins)
A beautiful harbour town and popular holiday resort due to its four beaches, and busy nightlife.
