Access statement for The Boat House Bed and Breakfast.
There are two ground floor bedrooms and two bedrooms on the first floor. We have an audible smoke detection system only. If specific requirements are needed in the event of an emergency, please discuss this with us prior to, or on your arrival. Assistance dogs are welcome.
Access to the designated parking area for four cars behind the Boat House B&B is via a steep incline, however, it is possible to stop outside the property as a drop-off point and there is a public car park opposite. This car park includes parking for blue-badge holders and the route from the car park to the B&B is fairly level. We are happy to give assistance in carrying luggage.
Both ground floor bedrooms are suitable for guests where accessibility may be an issue. However The Gwendraeth has a slightly higher bed, a wider doorway into the en-suite and a higher toilet seat and therefore would be more suitable for wheelchair users. The bedroom floors are carpeted and there are no rugs present. Lighting within the rooms is good, including lamps by the bedside. All TVs and DVD players have remote control.
All bedrooms are en-suite with walk-in showers. The height of the shower tray is 130mm. There is no shower seat available. There are no grab-rails in the bathrooms and the floors are tiled.
There are a total of 15 steps to get to the first floor. The stairs are covered with a fixed carpet. There is a single handrail on the right side ascending, which is made from wood and is reasonably easy to grip. There are no obstructions present on the staircase and lighting is good.
The breakfast room is on the ground floor. The room has a low ceiling at 6' 4", so caution is advised for people close to this height. The floor surface is wood and there are no rugs present. The chairs available have back support but no arm rests. Staff are available to provide table service if it is required.
The above only covers the summary points of our access statement
